Hi,

I just recently found this site, and hope to join you at this Sundays shoot at the malabar club. It's a little late notice but I assume it is open to walk-ins, based on the schedule? http://mgcc.miniuzi.com/view_entry.php? ... e=20100404

I work for Kel-Tec and The boss OK'd me to bring a new SMG to compete with. It's a .22WMR (22 Magnum), I know the gun club does not allow 22lr on steel, but 22WMR is not the same and is a very different bullet. though I know I may have problems with the lack of bullet mass on heavy targets, but it's worth a try. I have been working for Kel-Tec for nearly 8 years but just recently got into SMG's. I hope to learn more about them and advance my firearm skills, since I have never participated in any firearms competitions so far (Well, when I was at camp I shot accurately, but that was stationary shooting).

Toby

PS, I have a few questions:
1. Are lasers allowed? I have a green one that claims it is daylight visible I may bring.
2. Is a sling mandatory?
3. Is a pistol required?
4. any problems with bringing spectators? My wife and a few friends from work want to check it out.

Welcome to bullethose ktwm,

It was nice seeing you at the match yesterday and I have to take my hat off to you for showing up to your first subgun match ever with a prototype in 22WMR. That's a nice looking gun and it sounds wonderful with those small bursts.

I think all your questions were answered yesterday but for the record.

Yes I think you you can use a laser at our monthly matches but I don't think it'll help you. I know the national and state level matches lasers are not allowed.

Slings are optional but come in handy from time to time.
Pistols are only mandatory during matches that have pistol targets. A good rule of thumb is to bring a pistol and 50 rounds of ammo regardless. In the event your subgun should fail you can transition to the pistol.

And bring all the spectators you like :)

Glad to have you on board here on the forums and I hope we get to see you out at the matches in the future. Bring some friends and remember we have a semi auto and 22lr categories in the event folks don't have full autos .

-Todd

That wouldn't be the PMR-30 by any chance? A stocked post sample would be way too sweet! We need photos/video!

PMR-30 SMG to be exact

Photo's have started to be posted on the Kel-Tec facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 6139184639

Videos will be up later. My wife took some, and I think Todd has some to post too. I hope to be able to bring it to next months match too. Now that I know what to expect at these matches, I (and the gun) should do much better.

Post dealer samples are not planned, but you never know. From talking to some of the guys at the match, getting the LE letter is sometimes a pain.

3 videos :) That gun is kick ass... it got a bit dirty at the end but wow it's fast and sounds like nothing else.
